It is a natural island connected by a road bridge to the authentic Spanish town of Ayamonte with its quaint cobbled streets, town squares and great restaurants. It is situated very close to the border of Portugal in an area also known as the Spanish Algarve. It shares the charms of both Spain and Portugal with all their advantages. It is a fantastic region for enjoying sun, beach, sailing, golf, cycling, culture and scenic nature reserves. The Isla Canela resort comprises of a Golf course, vast fine sandy beaches, a modern leisure marina, luxury hotels, small commercial centres, restaurants and cafes. It is also home to a small fishing village as well as a large protected bird sanctuary. The resort can be reached from Faro Airport, which is about 45 minutes away across the river Guadiana where there are no customs or border controls while Seville is about 90 minutes by car. |
