| Isla Canela beach is situated in the South West corner of Andalucia at the mouth of the River Guardiana which is the natural border between the Portuguese Algarve and Spain. This coast is known as Costa de la Luz translated to Coast of Light, and boasts long unspoiled sandy beaches with great swimming and fishing and beautiful sunsets. Still very Spanish, the local industry is fishing and farming and nearby Ayamonte town holds many traditional festivals. There are many good restaurants and tapas bars offering exceptional value both in Playa Canela and Ayamonte town. Golfers will rejoice in the amount of choice they have within a short 'drive' from Ayamonte, in both Spain and Portugal, the closest being Par 72 just 2 kms away. The weather is warm all year round but can get very hot in the summer months. |
